Ha! I went full inward this year, did A LOT less - even our tree isn't fully decorated. Didn't even host dinner for the family as I usually do. We went to our fave Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn, and it was wonderful. And necessary. And I was proud that I did it. HOWEVER, the trap I fell into is that I'm not using my down time wisely. Instead of reading my backlog of magazines or that book I've been meaning to pick up, instead of going on those long walks and 1x/week gym jaunts, I've laid and sat around, playing NYT games and listening to endless Am I the Asshole videos (which I really, really love). So, let's do definitely do less and not judge ourselves about it!

'wonderful and necessary.' I love those words. I love that you took the time you needed over the holiday - I'll bet no one will remember your tree decor wasn't completed to your usual... I'll remind you, friend - no time is wasted - it's all part of the process. That's a reminder for me, too. ;-)

P.S. Walking pneumonia is no joke. I hope you feel better soon, and the beautiful mountain air and views help the healing process!

Soooo relatable in so many ways. And from what I've gathered reading a lot of holiday posts, you're not alone in this feeling.

Rest up and have a beautiful new year. 💛
