I appreciate the reminder to welcome the discomfort - to become comfortable with being uncomfortable. That is how we grow, right? Thanks for modeling it for us!

Retreating has definitely been something Im working through. Working on letting the need to do that go but definitely see some improvement. Thank you for sharing this!

We all do it. We all do it, and don't forget, we all do it. It is a process. ❤️

My current discomfort is surrendering my feelings of worry for my daughter who lives in a sketchy environment. Although she is reassuring me that she and her roommates have a plan to communicate their safety as a mom I still worry.

Oh, that is so hard! I was in the same situation with my daughter last year. It was so hard to leave her. She and her roommates came up with a good plan, and things ended just fine. But phew, that tug on your mother's heart - it's a real doozy!

"Sometimes, sitting in this place and not retreating is what it takes for the right thing to materialize." This is the crux of the entirety of my self work in my 30's. I used to get antsy when things weren't moving at the frenetic pace I'm accustomed to, and instead of just sitting still, quietly, and holding the ground, I moved to make it happen. Inevitably, that left me exhausted, overworked, and still not any closer to the RIGHT thing. Thank you for the reminder that sometimes we are all like wiggly toddlers with a tag in their shirt and we have to learn to just sit still and let it work itself out. 😁

Yay! This is wonderful. And YAY: Generation Women! I did a gig with them in 2022, upstate where I live. What a great experience that was, and it was the first time anyone ever paid me for my writing. Terrific piece, Sara. Thank you!
